  1. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Town Lake, it was a nice central point between APA! and Austin Animal Center. Clean and decent hotel room for a decent price, plus free shuttle to wherever (and the airport), also an Uber is usually less than 5 min away. Decent restaurant/bar in hotel, especially for studying or small groups, breakfast is not free and pretty pricey. It’s also right on the lake! No pets allowed – so if you plan to foster, not a great option.

  2. I am currently staying at the Native Hostel. It’s walking distance from fun things downtown, about an $8 Uber from the Nursery and $5 Uber from TLAC. Breakfast/Coffee included, VERY clean and friendly and the bar/restaurant has fantastic food and is a great place to unwind then walk right to your room. On top of that it’s a GREAT price especially for those who have to account for plane ticket in their budget. Highly highly recommend!

  3. I stayed at a wonderful Airbnb less than a 10 minute walk from the nursery. Having a washer dryer that week was very helpful!

    1. Do you remember anything about this so I might be able to find a listing for it? I am doing the nursery Sept. 2 Thanks!

  4. AirB&B! It was a lovely apartment about a five minute drive from the nursery. By far the cheapest and most convenient option I could find.

  5. I stayed at a pet-friendly AirBnB at 1405 Hartford Rd that was fantastic. It’s under 2 miles (less than 10 minutes drive) away from APA!’s Town Lake Animal Center campus, the host was super helpful and responsive, and the cost was under $75 per night. The only downside was that it doesn’t have a microwave, but it does have fridge, oven, dishwasher (and dishes/cups/mugs/silverware), washer/dryer, and TV with Netflix.

    1. I will be attending in March. Do you have a name or link to the property owner I could get. I’m very interested in a pet-friendly option.

  6. We stayed in the extended stay. Small kitchen w full fridge made cooking what we wanted easy. Pet friendly. We rented a car and shared cost between 3 of us. Walking distance to many reataurants, Starbucks and the bat bridge. It was clean, functional and safe. I’d do it again.
